Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently chaired a meeting to discuss the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and the Ramazan Relief Package. During this meeting, he directed officials to promptly distribute funds under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) to deserving individuals during the holy month of Ramazan. He also instructed for a nationwide awareness campaign to ensure that all eligible individuals are reached.
PM Directs Immediate Payment of Rs 10,500
During the meeting, it was disclosed that quarterly payments from the BISP had been increased to Rs. 10,500.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of timely payments during Ramadan, specifically highlighting an additional Rs. 2,000 for families in Balochistan.

Additionally, it was revealed that the Ramazan Relief Package, offering discounted prices of essential commodities with a total subsidy of Rs. 7.5 billion, would benefit over 39.6 million families. This package includes nineteen necessary food items, such as sugar, bread, and legumes.

Furthermore, concerns regarding the enrollment process for the Benazir Income Support Program were addressed, and a new integrated system was introduced to manage grievances and ensure prompt resolution.

It is noteworthy that Ramadan is expected to commence on March 12 with the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting in Peshawar for moon sighting. These efforts by the government aim to alleviate the stress and tension related to fulfilling basic needs during Ramadan, allowing individuals to fast and worship without worries.
