KPK Government has announced the Ramadan Relief Package 2024, spearheaded by Chief Minister Ali Ameen Gandapur after taking office. The initial phase of the relief package aims to benefit 900,000 individuals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) by providing each beneficiary with Rs 10,000 during the holy month. This assistance is intended to alleviate financial burdens for the less fortunate amidst rising inflation and economic challenges.

Additionally, the relief package includes the provision of flour to every family in the KPK Province. Interested individuals can apply for both cash and flour assistance online before the commencement of Ramadan. Furthermore, each family will also receive three bags of flour. Beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) are eligible to benefit from this support initiative.

To ensure transparency, the government will utilize data from the Ehsas program, a federal social welfare initiative, for beneficiary identification.
Those not registered in BISP can also apply online. Moreover, local officials have been instructed to compile lists of needy individuals in their respective areas ahead of Ramadan.
The KPK Government will organize Ramadan Bazaars across all cities, offering subsidized essential items such as flour, sugar, ghee, oils, and vegetables. A budget of Rs 9 billion has been allocated for this initiative, which will be disbursed through Ehsas cash centers.

Chief Minister Gandapur has emphasized the government’s commitment to aiding the needy and has pledged to implement extensive reforms to tackle corruption, crime, and drug abuse. The government is also focused on ensuring uninterrupted electricity and gas supply throughout KPK.

Additionally, a special relief package has been announced for utility stores in collaboration with the Federal Government, providing subsidies on essential groceries starting from March 8th before Ramadan. The package aims to support lower-income individuals and enhance their affordability of essential items.
