The 772nd Annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA).Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) was a Sufi saint, poet, and philosopher from the 13th century. His real name was Syed Usman Marwandi. He was born in Marwand, which is now part of Afghanistan. Shahbaz Qalandar is remembered for his admirable character, kindness, and teachings promoting humanity and tolerance. He passed away on the 18th of Shaaban in Sehwan Sharif, Pakistan. Every year, his Urs is commemorated on the 18th of Shaaban, and the celebrations usually span at least three days.

The celebration known as Urs will start on Thursday, February 29, 2024, and it will finish on Sunday, March 3, 2024. This event will take place at Darbar Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan Sharif, Sindh, Pakistan.

The three-day celebrations marking the 772nd annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) are set to begin in Sehwan Sharif today. A considerable number of devotees from all four provinces and foreign countries have gathered in the city to partake in the festivities. Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori will officially inaugurate the Urs by laying a chador on the grave.
The district administration of Jamshoro has assured that all arrangements for the Urs have been finalized. Approximately 4,000 policemen will be deployed to ensure security in the town during the three-day Urs, in addition to managing traffic on the highways. Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) has been instructed to suspend load-shedding throughout the Urs period.

Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) will not be permitted to enter the section of the Indus highway between Jamshoro and Sehwan. Free bottled drinking water will be provided to the devotees, and local health facilities are on high alert. Swimming in the Aralh and Danistar water channels has been prohibited for safety reasons.

Various events such as a cattle show, horse racing, traditional wrestling, agro and industrial exhibitions, Sughar Kachahri, conferences, and musical nights are planned as part of the Urs celebrations.
