TikTok has launched a new app specifically for Apple’s Vision Pro headset. This app works a lot like TikTok, giving users a similar experience, but it’s made to fit the Apple headset. “While some developers have stopped making apps for the Apple Vision Pro, our team has completely redesigned TikTok for it!” said a TikTok representative.

In this app, videos play vertically, and users can like, comment, and share them. There’s also plenty of space to see comments and information about creators without blocking the video. TikTok cleverly organizes things like comments and creator profiles on the Vision Pro’s bigger screen, so they don’t get in the way of the main video.
Stephen Reacham from CNET reviewed the TikTok app for Vision Pro. He said it’s made for watching videos in both the real world and virtual environments, like the moon. The app also works with other headset apps.

While TikTok leads in augmented reality, big streaming services like Disney and Amazon Prime Video are also offering 3D movies to Vision Pro users. However, Netflix and YouTube are more cautious and prefer users to watch through web browsers. TikTok getting into augmented reality aligns with the broader trend of immersive technology.

TikTok and Apple’s Vision Pro are under scrutiny, as mentioned in a previous report by Tech Times. Some users of the $3,500 Vision Pro goggles are returning them due to complaints about comfort, ease of use, and motion sickness. The White House has also weighed in, advising caution in using the headset and discouraging wearing it while driving, even with autopilot, as emphasized in Apple’s user guide.
