Famous Bakery Caught Stealing Gas

The Theft Control Team of the Customer Relations Department at Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) carried out a successful raid on a popular bakery in Karachi. They discovered instances of gas theft during the operation.

The team confiscated equipment, such as pipes, that the bakery was using to illegally siphon gas from the SSGC network.

According to SSGC authorities, a gas theft case has been filed against bakery owner Malik Muhammad Yaseen. They also mentioned that compensation for the stolen gas would be sought based on the amount taken.

In another incident, a significant gas theft was uncovered in Sukkur, as reported in an SSGC press release. This involved the removal of 10 underground clamps and domestic connections from 210 houses. The estimated volume of theft was around 201,600 cubic meters per year.

SSGC authorities have registered a case of gas theft against bakery owner Malik Muhammad Yaseen, stating that compensation for the stolen gas would be sought based on the amount taken.

In a separate incident, a significant gas theft was uncovered in Sukkur, involving the removal of 10 underground clamps and domestic connections from 210 houses.

Additionally, in Hyderabad, gas theft was detected in Mutaasreen Colony, Kohisar Area, Latifabad. Miscreants had connected Feeder Mains (FMs) with rubber pipes to over 30 houses in a non-gasified area. Clamps were removed, rubber pipes were recovered, and repairs were made to the 8-inch and 2-inch diameter FMs.

In another area, the estimated gas theft by unregistered customers amounted to approximately 28,800 cubic meters per year.

SSGC also dealt with domestic gas theft in other cities in Sindh, such as Larkana’s Jacobabad Zone and Shikarpur Zone. They dismantled a total of 13 overhead and 12 underground illegal connections in these areas. Rubber pipes and clamps were promptly removed during these operations, according to the company.
