The Pakistan Football Federation’s Normalisation Committee has decided to use Jinnah Stadium for the National Challenge Cup’s knockout stage.

Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad Expected as Venue for National Challenge Cup in Football

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalisation Committee has already sent a letter to the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) requesting access to the stadium and its training area. This is so they can hold the National Challenge Cup at the country’s largest football stadium.

The PFF had previously announced that the competition would take place from May 1 to May 12. All 16 departmental and club teams have been invited to participate in the knockout round of the tournament.

Departments across the country that want to take part in the National Challenge Cup have asked the PFF NC to postpone Pakistan’s main cup competition by at least two weeks. This would give them time to gather their top players and properly prepare for the tournament.

An official from a state-owned department mentioned that while the departments are eager to participate in the country’s top football cup competition, they are requesting the NC to delay it by two weeks. This extra time would allow departmental teams to get ready.

The PFF also stated that the National Women’s Football Championship, featuring 16 teams, will start on May 5, with the final set for May 21.
