YouTube is not just stopping ad blocker extensions anymore. They’re also going after other apps that let you avoid ads. These apps go against YouTube’s rules. Even though they’re mainly focusing on “ad-blocking apps,” other apps with ad-blocking might also get into trouble.
YouTube has made it clear that it doesn’t allow third-party apps to block ads because it stops creators from getting paid for their videos. This seems to be aimed at mobile ad blockers like AdGuard. AdGuard lets you watch YouTube without ads by opening it inside the ad blocking app.
Before, people could use apps like AdGuard to watch YouTube without ads. It was like using an ad blocker. But soon, YouTube won’t allow this anymore. If you try to use these apps, you’ll see an error message saying, “You can’t watch this content using this app.”

If you really don’t like ads, YouTube suggests getting Premium.

But in a recent update to HyperOS, which replaces MIUI, Xiaomi had to take this feature away.
