WhatsApp Will Send HD Photos and Videos Automatically Soon. In August, WhatsApp introduced a feature that allows users to send photos in higher quality, utilizing the full resolution of the image. Previously, users had to manually select the higher resolution option for each image, which was inconvenient.
However, a preview of WhatsApp’s beta for Android version 2.24.7.17, provided by WABeta Info, revealed an upcoming improvement: the addition of a Media Upload Quality toggle in the Storage and Data menu. This toggle will enable the automatic transmission of all images and videos in HD.

WABeta Info also shared a screenshot illustrating what this toggle looks like and the differences between each option.
Choosing “Standard quality” ensures that the recipient receives the media in a compressed size, which helps in faster delivery but may reduce the quality. On the other hand, opting for HD quality results in a larger file size, roughly six times more, leading to slower transmission, particularly on slow internet connections.
However, the toggle in the media sharing screen remains a permanent feature, giving users the flexibility to send files in different quality settings according to their specific needs.

The feature has been rolled out to a select group of beta testers for initial assessment. Depending on the resolution of any issues identified during this testing phase, it will eventually be incorporated into the stable version. However, the exact release date is currently uncertain.

Fast Forward and Rewind Videos
WhatsApp has recently introduced a feature that allows users to navigate through videos more easily. This feature applies to all videos sent directly through the app. While watching a video, users can tap on the right side of the screen to skip forward by 10 seconds or tap on the left side to go back by 10 seconds. This functionality is similar to what is found on platforms like YouTube and Netflix.
