A high-ranking official from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) was taken by kidnappers in Rawalpindi. Reliable sources from Pakistanalerts shared that Rehmatullah Khan, an Officer in the inland revenue service, was kidnapped by unknown individuals. He worked at the FBR Headquarters in the Management Wing.
Reports say Khan left home to visit friends for Eid during the holiday but didn’t return. His family couldn’t reach him as his phone has been off since April 12, 2024.
On April 15, 2024, the police station filed a report about the incident. The officer’s brother-in-law mentioned receiving a call from someone speaking Sindhi, demanding a ransom of 10 million. The kidnappers stated that Rahmatullah Khan was being held in the Gothgi Kachay area.

Recovering the officer swiftly poses a difficult task for the FBR chairman. This event has caused concern among all officers and officials crucial to tax collection.
