Starting from February 1, 2024, schools in Punjab will return to their usual schedules after the winter timings, which were put in place by the provincial education department starting from January 8, come to an end on January 31. The government has instructed all public and private schools to follow standard hours, operating from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Fridays until the end of January.

This decision by the interim government to adjust school timings during the winter season is part of a larger effort to manage seasonal changes. Earlier this month, winter vacations were extended until January 31 due to extremely low temperatures and cold winds.

In a recent notification, authorities have confirmed the resumption of regular timings, providing clarity for educators and students across the province. The notification stated, “In continuation of this department’s notification of even No. dated January 8, 2024, the timings already notified are hereby extended until January 31, 2024, in all public and private schools across the province.

The provisional education department notified that the timing for both public and private schools had been revised in Lahore for the winter season.
