A representative from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has shared news about flights going back to normal in Dubai.
They say flights will start again once the situation at the Dubai airport gets better after heavy rain.
The heavy rains in the United Arab Emirates have caused chaos, flooding runways and disrupting flights at Dubai International Airport for the last three days.
The spokesperson for Pakistan’s national airline said that the bad weather in Dubai and Sharjah led to the cancellation of 22 flights from Pakistan to Dubai since April 16.
People affected by the canceled flights are being given priority to get on the next available flights. The spokesperson also mentioned that extra flights are being organized to help passengers stuck in Dubai get back home.
Meanwhile, Khaqan Murtaza, the Director General of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), advised passengers whose flights were canceled to contact the PIA call center for updates on their flights.
In response to a question, the DG confirmed that an employee of the Airport Security Force (ASF) had been disciplined for mistreating a child at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.
