Pakistan wants to win the final T20I game to finish the series with a tie. They lost the fourth T20I match against New Zealand at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. It was unexpected. Now, there is pressure on Babar Azam’s team.
New Zealand is leading the series 2-1. Pakistan missed the chance to win in the last over by just 4 runs while trying to chase 179 runs.
The final selection of Pakistan’s playing eleven remains uncertain because Mohammad Rizwan, their regular wicket-keeper batter, is injured and unable to play.
Fakhar Zaman was the only batter who showed determination during the last match, scoring 61 runs off 45 balls. However, his strike rate of 135.56 was lower than usual.
Pakistan is worried about the strike rate of their top-order players, especially Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, who didn’t take full advantage of Saim Ayub’s quick performance in the last game.
To boost their chances of leveling the series and restoring their pride, Pakistan might replace Zaman Khan with Shaheen Afridi, their key fast bowler, in the playing XI.
Another alternative in the team is leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed, who could replace Usama Mir. Mir and Zaman Khan were both very costly with the ball, with an economy rate of over 10 runs per over.
Pakistan will play against New Zealand tonight at 7 pm at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
