PML-N, PPP say Shehbaz to be PM, Zardari president. After many discussions, Pakistan’s major political parties, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), made an important decision on Tuesday. They agreed to work together to form a government at the national level in Islamabad.
PPP, PML-N Strike Power-Sharing Deal in Pakistan
Leaders from both parties, including PML-N’s Shehbaz Sharif and PPP’s Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, met and talked about joining forces. They held a press conference together later on Tuesday, along with PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and other leaders from both parties.
During the meeting, they agreed that Shehbaz Sharif would be their pick for Prime Minister, and Asif Ali Zardari would aim for the presidency of Pakistan. They also agreed to pick their cabinet members after further discussions.

Bilawal told the press that they have enough support to form the government together. He announced that they are going to work together to form a coalition government in the country, with Shehbaz Sharif as the Prime Minister once again.
Bilawal mentioned that other parties, like the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed independent candidates and the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), didn’t get enough support to form a government.

He said that both parties are committed to addressing the country’s challenges and are hopeful about their ability to make positive changes. Asif Zardari assured the people that their efforts are for the betterment of Pakistan and future generations. Shehbaz Sharif explained that they had asked the winning candidates backed by the PTI to prove they had enough support to form a government, but they couldn’t.
After many discussions, they finally agreed to form the government together. Shehbaz Sharif thanked the PPP for their cooperation.

The sources also mentioned that the parties have decided on nominations for various positions, like the speakership of the National Assembly and Senate, as well as governor positions in different provinces. They also clarified that PPP won’t be part of the cabinet in the Center or Punjab but will work as coalition partners in Balochistan.
