PM FORMS STEERING COMMITTEE TO AUTOMATE AND REFORM FBR. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has established a steering committee dedicated to overseeing reforms and automation within the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR).
The committee, chaired by PM Shehbaz himself, comprises ten members, including Federal Ministers of Finance, Industry, Commerce and Production, and Law. A formal notification has been issued to this effect.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has established a steering committee to accelerate the reform and automation of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The committee will assess the progress of the approved FBR reform plan’s implementation and provide guidance to facilitate the swift execution of the FBR’s reform agenda.

The Finance Division will provide secretarial support to the steering committee, tasked with monitoring the implementation of the FBR reform plan.

The committee formed to coordinate the government’s efforts toward FBR reforms and automation is as follows

The Finance Division will offer secretarial assistance to the Committee and undertake additional essential steps to officially notify the committee accordingly.
PM forms 10-member: FBR Restructuring and Automation Steering Committee
The economic roadmap, presented during the meeting, focuses on reducing inflation, alleviating poverty, and generating employment opportunities. PM Shehbaz stressed the importance of prioritizing actions to develop agriculture, livestock, technology, foreign investment, and small and large-scale industries.

He expressed confidence that these initiatives would stabilize the economy and propel the country towards development. Additionally, PM Shehbaz underscored the significance of modernizing and innovating various sectors, particularly agriculture, to increase revenues and productivity. He also emphasized the privatization of loss-making state-owned enterprises as a priority.
