The Pakistan women’s cricket team announced its 17-player squad for the upcoming tour to England on Thursday. They’re set to play three One Day International (ODI) matches and three Twenty20 (T20) matches.

These matches are important as they’re part of the ICC ODI Women’s Championship 2022-2025. This series in England will be Pakistan’s eighth and final ODI series in the championship.

The squad, led by captain Nida Dar, includes both experienced players and promising talents. Notable names like Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, and Nida Dar bring extensive international experience to the team.

Exciting young prospects such as Nashra Sandhu and Fatima Sana are also part of the squad, showing Pakistan’s dedication to nurturing emerging talent.

During the tour, Pakistan will play three ODIs followed by three T20Is against England. This provides the team with a chance to showcase their skills on the international stage and earn points in the ongoing ICC Women’s Championship.

Captain Nida Dar expressed confidence in her team’s abilities in response to the squad announcement. She highlighted the tour’s significance for player development and competitive exposure.

To secure direct qualification to next year’s ICC Women’s World Cup, Pakistan must avoid significant defeats in the ODI series. This qualification is at risk after their loss against the West Indies.
