Pakistan Railways Announces Special Eid Trains. According to the plan, special trains will be running from Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta. These additional services aim to alleviate passenger congestion and improve travel convenience during this festive period.
Pakistan Railways to run four special trains on Eid-ul-Fitr
Aamir Ali Baloch, the CEO of Pakistan Railways, has directed the commencement of Eid special trains and mentioned the potential for fare reduction in case of a decrease in petroleum prices.
Baloch also emphasized the importance of coal transportation, which contributes to nearly half of the railway expenses. He underscored the ongoing efforts to ensure the effective functioning of the railway system.
Furthermore, he acknowledged the efforts of former Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique in improving the railway system. This included initiatives such as track restoration and the reintroduction of profitable train services.
Pakistan Railways to run four special trains
Last month, Pakistan Railways made the decision to procure 230 passenger coaches and 820 Capacity Wagons through the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
As per an official from the Ministry of Railways, around 46 Completely-Built-Up (CBU) passenger coaches have been acquired out of the total.

The remaining 184 coaches will be produced domestically. These coaches are designed to operate at speeds of up to 160 km/h.
