Nanbais in Punjab and Islamabad are going on strike today. They’re upset about the government’s plan to lower the prices of bread. The All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran, which represents traders, made this announcement.

Ajmal Baloch, who leads the All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran, asked the government to free many bakers who were arrested in Punjab. He said this when he declared the strike.

Baloch criticized the Punjab government for closing down one group’s business to help another. He said this was not fair. He also said using force wouldn’t help the government give relief to people.

He said that when the price of a bag of flour was Rs. 10,000, naan was sold for Rs. 20. But when the price of flour went up by Rs. 2,000, the price of naan became Rs. 25.

Baloch is worried about the government’s recent decision. He said now that the price of a bag of flour is reduced to Rs. 10,800, bakers are being forced to sell naan for Rs. 16.

He said it’s important to talk to everyone involved before making decisions. Baloch thinks that solving this problem needs input from all sides, especially about the prices of naan and roti.

Before this, the Muttahida Nanbai Roti Association of Punjab had already said no to the orders to lower naan and roti prices in the province.

Then, when the Punjab government told them to sell roti for Rs. 16, the Nanbai Association gave a 96-hour ultimatum. They wanted the government to lower the prices of flour.

It’s important to note that the Muttahida Nanbai Roti Association of Punjab refused to accept the provincial government’s decision to lower naan and roti prices.

They also said they would shut down bakeries across the province if their demands were not met.
