The announcement by the FDE has sparked criticism from teaching staff due to its apparent disregard for academic needs. Concerns have been raised about the overlap of spring vacations with Eidul Fitr holidays, which are expected to occur during the same period.
Teachers argue that spring vacations are traditionally intended to provide both teachers and students with a much-needed break following the conclusion of the academic session on March 31st. A female teacher expressed to a national daily the importance of this break for recharging and preparing for the upcoming academic session after a demanding term.

It’s worth noting that the FDE had previously announced spring break from April 1 to 7, 2024. The sudden change in schedule has garnered significant criticism from stakeholders.
