The Punjab government has given a cheque worth Rs. 2.5 million to the family of a young man from Narowal who was accidentally killed by one of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s security vehicles last week on the Narowal-Shakargarh Road.
After the tragic accident, where 23-year-old Muhammad Abubakar was struck and killed by an Elite Police vehicle in the chief minister’s convoy, the government has provided financial support to his family.
Narowal Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza and Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Ahmad Iqbal visited the family of Muhammad Abubakar, who died in a tragic accident, at their home in the village of Jasar. They came to offer condolences on behalf of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and to deliver a cheque for Rs. 2.5 million to Abubakar’s father, Fakhr Ayaz.
During their visit, MPA Ahmad Iqbal expressed the government’s support for the grieving family. He mentioned that the financial assistance aims to ease the family’s immediate needs and demonstrates the government’s solidarity with those in distress.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz quickly responded to the incident, requesting a detailed report from the Deputy Commissioner to understand the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Abubakar worked at a filling station, and his father, Fakhr Ayaz, is a laborer. Given the situation, the chief minister instructed the authorities to take appropriate legal action against the driver of the government vehicle involved in the accident, according to Dawn’s report.
The accident that claimed Abubakar’s life occurred when two motorcycles, one of which was Abubakar’s, collided, leading to a crash with a vehicle in the chief minister’s security convoy. The impact was fatal, and Abubakar died on the spot.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken note of the incident and has asked the Deputy Commissioner for a full report to ensure proper accountability. She also directed the police to pursue legal action against the driver involved in the fatal crash.
Abubakar, who worked at a filling station, is survived by his father, a laborer, and other family members. They are deeply saddened by his sudden loss.
