Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur Takes Firm Stance Against Illegal Petrol and LPG in Peshawar Division. In response to rising concerns about the safety and quality of fuel in the Peshawar Division, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has announced a robust campaign to tackle the distribution of illegal petrol and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), as well as to crack down on substandard petrol stations.
The Chief Minister’s initiative comes at a critical time, as residents and local authorities have reported a surge in incidents related to unsafe fuel and unauthorized fuel stations. By adopting this strict approach, the government aims to protect consumers and ensure that only safe, high-quality fuel reaches the market.
As part of the campaign, a specialized task force will be established to conduct comprehensive inspections across the Peshawar Division. This task force will work in coordination with local police, the Regional Transport Authority, and the Petroleum Department to identify and close down illegal fuel distribution operations. Petrol stations that fail to meet safety and quality standards will face immediate closure, and their owners will be subject to legal action, which could include fines and imprisonment.
Additionally, the task force will focus on addressing the illegal conversion of vehicles from petrol or compressed natural gas (CNG) to LPG. These unauthorized conversions pose significant risks to public safety, as they often do not meet regulatory requirements. Workshops and mechanics found to be engaging in these illegal practices will be shut down, and their operators will face legal consequences.

Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized that the safety of the public is his top priority, stating, “We will not tolerate any actions that put our citizens at risk. This crackdown is just the beginning, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to safe and reliable fuel.”
The government’s strong stance on this issue is expected to lead to a significant reduction in illegal fuel distribution and improved safety standards across the Peshawar Division. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities related to fuel distribution to the authorities as the campaign gains momentum.
