The Punjab Food Ministry is working to bring down the high prices of broiler chicken by banning the export of baby chicks.
The Livestock Department has created a plan for this ban and sent it to the Punjab government for approval.
The reports suggest that if the ban is enforced, the price of chicken could drop by as much as Rs 200 per kilogram. Usually, extra goods are exported, but right now, there’s a big shortage, which is why the ban is needed.
In response to rising chicken prices, the federal government has decided to ban the export of roasters. This measure is designed to reduce pressure on chicken prices within Pakistan.
The federal food ministry has prepared a proposal for the export ban, emphasizing its expected impact. If the federal cabinet approves it, chicken prices could drop by as much as Rs200 per kilogram.

This action reflects the government’s efforts to tackle the surge in chicken prices and ensure that the people of Pakistan can afford this important source of protein.
They pointed to the faulty policies of the previous administration as the reason behind the sharp rise in prices in the provincial capital. Even though there’s a local shortage, prices have gone up because of exports.
