An American freelance journalist found her perfect match in the beautiful area of Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. She went back to Pakistan to marry him.
Her name is Clair Stephen, and she married Anwar Ali, who is a professional polo player. They got married in Islamabad before going to Chitral for more celebrations.
In a special story of two people from different cultures coming together, Claire Stephen, an American freelance journalist, married Anwar Wali, a polo player and poet from Upper Chitral, Pakistan.
Clair met Wali when she visited Pakistan eight months ago, staying in the Buni area of Upper Chitral. Even after going back home, they stayed in touch, and their friendship turned into love.
At the ceremony, Anwar’s friends and family were there, and the dowry was said to be Rs30,000. Clair spoke highly of Anwar, saying it was his wonderful qualities that made her want to marry him.
They first met about eight months ago when Clair visited Pakistan and stayed in the Buni area of Upper Chitral. Even after she went back home, Clair stayed in touch with Anwar, and their friendship slowly turned into a romantic relationship.
Claire expressed her love for the Pakistani man, saying it’s Anwar’s character that makes her fall in love with him.
